Congressman August Pfluger Visits Superior Essex Communications Plant
The Office of US Congressman August Pfluger (11th District of Texas) recently paid a visit to the Superior Essex Communications plant in Brownwood, Texas. As a member of the Energy & Commerce committee, Congressman Pfluger is well-versed in the intricacies of BEAD funding and BABA, making him an ideal advocate for the industry. He was joined by Dr. Cory Hines, President of Howard Payne University, and Dr. Dale Meinecke, the VP of Development for the school.
The Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program, provides $42.45 billion to expand high-speed internet access by funding planning, infrastructure deployment and adoption programs in the United States. While the Build America, Buy America Act (BABA) focuses on maximizing the federal government’s use of services, goods, products, and materials produced and offered in the United States.
During the visit, the Superior Essex Communications team engaged in fruitful discussions with Congressman Pfluger.
“We had great conversations about the infrastructure systems in America as well as using Texas made product for Texas!” Jeffrey Buck, the Director of Operations at the plant, said.
The team also extended an invitation to Congressman Pfluger to attend the official grand re-opening and celebration of the plant in May. The Congressman expressed interest in attending, though his availability will ultimately depend on his schedule.
Superior Essex Communications, a leading provider of communications cable and accessory products, is excited about the potential collaboration and the opportunities it may bring for the local industry.
